In Massachusetts Medicaid Matters

Meet Felicity

I am a 40 year old woman with Neurofibromatosis Type 2, which causes multiple tumors to grow in my brain and spine. Before the ACA, I couldn’t afford healthcare and my disease and health went unchecked. I lost use of one eye, and became profoundly deaf.

The ACA has saved my life. I’ve been able to be treated with brain surgery, 2 eye surgeries, and 7 years of chemotherapy infusions. The ACA allows me to have MRIs and other diagnostic tests to monitor my health.

ACA allows me prescriptions for medicine that subdues the excruciating pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia. In 2014 I became blind after a brain surgery. ACA helped me recover from blindness and get my vision restored.

ACA gives me security and peace of mind, which allows me to spend less time worrying about my health, and more time spent being productive and contributing to society. Dismantling the ACA will kill thousands of Americans that depend on it.
